Last week we (some classmates and me) decided to leave Bangkok for some days to get out of this crazy and loud city to spend some time at the beach. All our classes got cancelled last minute so we decided to go to Koh Samed. This island is not far away from Bangkok and it’s a popular destination even for Thai people to get some rest of the city.
It costs ap. 390 BAHT (10 EUR) for two ways by bus and ferry.

Arriving at the island we startet looking for apartments and we found some cute bungalows (Pudsa Bungalows) directly at the beach in the east of Koh Samed. We paid 800 BAHT for a bungalow with beach view and fan.
Funny taxi drive to the bungalows in a pick up:
View from our bungalow directly on the beach (sadly a little overexposed)
The next day we rented some motorbikes (350 BAHT inclusive gas) and explored all the beautiful beaches.
Here is one of the beaches. We took lunch on this bridge just surrounded by clear blue water. Watermelon Shake – best shake in my opinion. <3
This is supposed to be the “sunset beach” but it was too cloudy when we got there. Nevertheless the water still was hot like in a bathtub and you could spent hours in it without getting cold.
At the evening we had some nice and cheap seafood:
In the end I destroyed my motorbike. I drove into a pole and had to pay 100 EUR :/
There was no real party on this island. They have some small bars but especially during the week there is almost nothing going on. We still found some nice bar near our bungalows with a small fire show and fire rope skipping:
Fire rope skipping 🙂
We liked that island a lot and it is a nice opportunity to take some time off of Bangkok (and especially because of the bombing one day before).
We all will be returning soon I guess 😉
